As a Ready Mix Concrete Truck Driver, your primary role is to safely drive the concrete mixer to various work sites and discharge loads. 

This role involves working in diverse settings and conditions, including uneven ground, and may require handling extension chutes. You will play a key part in the safe and efficient operation of the ready-mix truck, ensuring timely delivery of products to customers.

Job Responsibilities:

• Safely drive the truck to and from destinations, adhering to DOT driving regulations and local road conditions.
• Check loads to ensure proper and safe hauling of products, making adjustments as necessary.
• Estimate the slump of concrete and distinguish between different mix types.
• Verify directions with plant personnel to ensure accurate delivery to customers and job sites.
• Maintain strong customer relationships to meet or exceed customer expectations and achieve high customer satisfaction survey results.
• Keep the truck clean and well-maintained, following approved cleaning procedures.
• Maintain a neat personal appearance, including keeping shirts tucked in at all times.
• Maintain radio contact with supervisor/dispatch to receive delivery instructions.
• Assist other company employees as needed.
• Perform pre and post-trip inspections on truck equipment and supplies.
• Maintain good knowledge of city traffic routes.
• Follow all CEMEX, D.O.T., and O.S.H.A. rules and regulations.
• Meet or exceed company safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Must possess a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL A or B).
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Acceptable CSA and MVR records.
• No DUI’s or DWI’s in the last 5 years, and no more than 3 moving violations in the previous 3 years.
• High school diploma preferred, bilingualism a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Basic arithmetic skills.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and perform basic arithmetic operations.

Working Conditions:

• Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and outdoor work.
• Must wear protective equipment while on location.

Physical Requirements:

• Requires significant walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing.
• Heavy work, exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Regularly required to talk and hear to communicate with employees and visitors.
• Must pass DOT physical, including back x-ray, hearing test, and drug/alcohol screen.
